117 kilometres from the Chilean capital is Viña del Mar, the “Garden City” and the most important seaside resort on the Pacific Ocean, which is undoubtedly the capital of Chilean tourism, with beautiful green areas and more than four kilometres of good beaches for swimming.

Sausalito Lagoon, the Botanical Gardens, Vergara farm and the famous Flower Clock are some of its main attractions. The city has a picturesque architecture of residential neighbourhoods and vanguard buildings situated in its main avenue. The seaside resort boasts of its charm and in the last week of February it becomes the centre of international interest, when it organizes the Music Festival which gathers the best world famous artists and the most demanding public.

There is a first class tourist infrastructure offering striking accommodation like the 5-star hotels of international reputation.

The gastronomy is excellent and for every taste, and the visitors can also enjoy pleasant park walks, visits to museums and sports activities like rugby, football and golf. Nightlife is varied and exciting and there is entertainment for all ages.

It has some of the best beaches in Chile, like Caleta Abarca, which is one of the most visited ones and is surrounded by buildings, Casino, Acapulco, Los Marineros, Blanca and El Sol, all of which are on the coastal fringe surrounding the city centre.

Reñaca is another important neighbourhood and its beach is usually chosen by young people as there are beautiful bodies, lively nightlife and amazing sunrise.

Las Salinas beach is ideal for swimming thanks to its quiet water, as well as Miramar Cochoa beach, situated on the limits of the commune and famous for its excellent restaurants.

You can get there by land from Santiago de Chile. The temperature is very pleasant all the year, and the warmest months are from December to March, when the temperatures are about 25ºC.
