Turkey is an original country nestled in between Europe and Asia, and precisely this particular geographical feature determines in great part the rich classic tourism experience it offers its visitors.
Its capital, the legendary Istanbul, is a witness of the passing of universal history: Conquered by the Greeks, then the birthplace of the Eastern Roman Empire or the Byzantine Empire, as it is also known, was named Constantinople by the Emperor with the same name, icons of the Catholic and Muslim religions intertwine in this city. With the famous Aya Sofya, the first Byzantine church, or the spectacular Blue Mosque, Istanbul is a magnet for the history eager tourist.
However, Turkey not only offers great Ottoman palaces, such as the Topkapi, or the interest on the famous Capadoccia area, but also offers its visitors a lesser known but spectacular world of beaches. But where are the Turkey beaches located? Within the European beaches or within the Asian beaches? The best answer is both, because this country offers, on its coasts on the Aegean, the Mediterranean, the Marmara Sea and the Black Sea itself, some of the best beaches of the world.
The spectacular Olu Deniz, on the Mediterranean, comes to mind as the best Turkish beach. It consists of a magnificent enclave of sea among mountains, and a point that divides the Mediterranean beach itself from the blue lagoon that completes this fantastic place, ideal for spending dreamy vacations.
As the most developed beaches, we find Kekova and Fethiye, fantastic places that have been invaded by tourism and, while the consequences in terms of the building of hotels, highways and the excess of bars and restaurants can be unfavorable, they both keep offering the tourist their spectacular turquoise waters combined with white and rocky sands. Kusa Dasi is the most outstanding beach on the Aegean Sea, this sea is more associated with the Greek beaches, having in Turkey its most Asian version.
Turkey is a country with a vast and rich history that justify a visit by themselves, with places like Troy, Ephesus and Pergamus, but if we add to this the possibility to combine these treasures with its beautiful beaches, Turkey is almost a must for those who love travelling.
