Sinop is in the north of Turkey on the Black Sea, bordering the province of Kastamonu to the east, Forum to the south and Samsun to the southeast.
Its port has always been an important trade center for imports and exports, and the city has remains of the ancient walls, a byzantine construction and some attractive buildings of the 13th century, which make it one of the most interesting cities in Turkey. Besides, Sinop is in a picturesque penninsula offering a natural harbour on the Black Sea and lots of nearby beaches.
The beaches are really attractive for tourists; there are white sand ones as well as black sand ones. The best beach is undoubtedly Akliman, with its white sand, turquoise water and pine woods. Another smaller beach is Kumsal, where you can go camping. If you love diving, Sinop offers the best beaches in Turkey.
WHERE TO STAY AND WHAT TO DO - HOTELS AND ACTIVITIES
