The Monaco Principality is an independent state of 1.92 Km2. The first population was as almost in the rest of Europe, Romans. But the historical modern beginning of Monaco started in 1308 when Italy bought this part of France to the Republic of Genova. After that, in 1524 there was a Spanish invasion. Nowadays is Constitutional Monarchy with Prince Albert II as the head of state.
Monaco is much more than beautiful beaches. There are some fact that defines exactly what Monaco is: a tax haven (no income tax for individuals) that is also the second most densely populated country in the world.
In this context, if you can escape from the Casino, you can go the beautiful beaches of Monaco: Larvotto Beach that is public, and the private ones like: Monte-Carlo Beach Club or the Beach Plaza Sea Club.

The Côte d'Azur International Airport in Nice is situated 13.7 miles away from Monaco, in Nice. From there you can go to Monaco by helicopter, bus or taxis.
ATTRACTIONS IN MONACO
Monte Carlo - A the beginning of the XIX century Francois Blanc, made Montecarlo the European capital of gambling. The Casino is an unique construction that host royal families, movie actors, famous singer and the jet set people for over 150 years. It has the Monaco Opera House, inaugurated by Sarah Bernhard in 1879 and also Les Ballets of Monte Carlo.
Monaco Grand Prix - Takes places during May and is one of the majors world events of cars.
Le Rocher - Is the old town of the city and ocupieds a balcony 60 mts above the sea level.
Oceanographic Museum - Has skeletons of big marina mammals and a great aquarium with species of the Mediterranean fauna.
The Exotic Garden - Is situated in and high cave and has an amazing microclimate that makes easier the growing of semidesertic flora.
Collection of old cars - Excellent car exposition that once belongs to the royal family. The most important are the cars of the between war period: Buick, Packard.
WHEN TO GO TO MONACO
Monaco is being said to have more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Even in winter, the temperature goes from 48 to 58 F degrees. In the springtime, there is a wind called "Le Mistral", creates a clear sky and a nice temperature.
