The famous land of the rising sun has a countless number of tourist attractions such as its futuristic capital, Tokyo. The beaches in Japan have the peculiarity that the official season of swimming, i.e. beach use is sanctioned by a priest who declares that the waters are safe for swimming. While you can find people swimming before that happens, many people are definitely not going to the beach until the ceremony is completed, which normally happens around the first day of June.
