The famous land of the rising sun has a countless number of tourist attractions such as its futuristic capital, Tokyo. But one of its hidden attractions are the spectacular beaches on the country's four main islands, and in its 6,848 little islands surrounding them, which without a doubt have some of the best beaches in Asia. The beaches in Japan have the peculiarity that the official season of swimming, i.e. beach use is sanctioned by a priest who declares that the waters are safe for swimming. While you can find people swimming before that happens, many people are definitely not going to the beach until the ceremony is completed, which normally happens around the first day of June.
One hour away from Tokyo, in the Kanagawa Prefecture, two beaches are really commendable, Shonan and Enoshima. But the most spectacular beaches of Japan are on the Ogasawara Islands and the Island of Hateruma, two real gems of natural beauty and unique landscapes that are without doubt among the best beaches in the world.
Besides its beaches, Japan offers many other attractions to complement a range of attractions so diverse that make a visit to Japan an obligatory appointment for the international tourist. With the Golden Pavilion Temple, or the imposing Mount Fuji, visiting Japan is simply an unforgettable experience because of its peculiar and unique cultural characteristics. Who does not know words like Kimono, Geisha, Bonsai, Sake or Sushi? Japanese culture has been exported to the world so that visiting Japan is finding the genuine origins of all those elements that have come to us somewhat distorted by western culture.
So visit Japan and enjoy its beaches, cuisine, and all of the country's cultural impact of the rising sun!
