  • ECUADOR BEACHESEcuador is located on the north east side of South America, its coasts are on the Pacific Ocean, on the continental territory and some islands close to the coast and the Galápagos archipelago, almost 1,000 kilometers from Ecuador. It's a country with great natural, cultural and archeological wealth. Quito is the capital, but the most populated city is Guayaquil, the main port of this country and one of the greatest transit activity of South America. This country have regions with very diverse climates, there are three big zones: hot, mild and cold. The average temperature, on the coast and on the east, is between 20º and 33ºC.

Ecuador is considered one of the few countries with the most amount of animal and plant species by square kilometer, given its total surface. If you wish to visit natural virgin areas and get acquainted with the local culture, this is the ideal destination, because there's an endless amount of beaches, bays, parks, cliffs, and everything with a great infrastructure for servicing tourists, offering entertainment in paradise, from whale spotting to many water sports to the complete service so you can relax and fully enjoy your vacations.

About 140 kilometers from Guayaquil it's the Salinas beach, recognized in the world because of its white and fine sand and the incredible turquoise color of its waters, which its visitors enjoy. It's ideal to practice diving, jet skiing, deep sea fishing, surfing. The incredible hotel infrastructure and the services offered in the beaches and surrounding restaurants have turned this into a popular hot spot.

The Santa Elena peninsula, where Salinas is located, is visited throughout the year, because the temperature is always about 24ºC. In the clear sea we will find all types of fish and sea creatures: tuna, sardines, octopus, crabs, etc., which is the main source of income of the locals. This is a prehistorical fishing town, where you cannot avoid visiting the traditional seafood market, the Salinas Museum and the famous chocolate factory, to see the Ecuadorian coast from high up.

The green province, how is also known, is another unmissable spot. Here, there's another important port: Esmeraldas. The beaches here are one of their main attractions. Very close is Atacames, which welcomes tourists all year round, the Quiteños beach, very close to Quito. The touristic infrastructure is very well developed: good sidewalk cafes, featuring the best of the typical food of the region, with typical drinks based on coconut water. Towards the south it's Súa, a quiet fishing town with great accommodations and a beautiful beach, where you can go banana boating.

This country, besides the coasts, the beaches, the city, the culture and the precolombian archeology, and its forests, has something that is a must to visit: The Galápagos Archipelago. In these islands you'll find a great variety of exotic species, among them the most typical ones of these islands: the different "galápagos", huge tortoises that gave the name to the island due to the similarity of their shell with the British horse mount.

Ecuador welcomes tourists with an excellent hotel infrastructure, offering accommodations for every need: big hotels, cabanas, house or apartment rent, conventional hotels, hostals, etc.
