Chile is a country that faces the Pacific Ocean, and is delimited by The Andes. The Andean country is more internationally known by its mountain range and its astonishing lakes, than by its beaches. However, the Chilean beaches have a particular interest, because in its approximate 4,000 kilometers of coast and 15 different regions, Chile offers a spectacular variety of beaches.Even more famous, for its enigmatic sculptures, is Easter Island, in Polynesia, with only 3,000 inhabitants, influenced by the ancient Rapa Nui culture. The monoliths are ones of the most famous world enigmas, because their origin is a mystery, while it is thought that the Polynesian inhabitants were the creators of these historical symbols, some have other theories, like aliens living on this island.
At the Atacama region, we find the Salado Bay, totally deserted and inviting to meet nature in an almost virgin state, practically with no infrastructure and perfect for camping. In Arica, the most popular beaches are El Laucho, the most chic beach, and El Chinchorro, a super quiet family friendly beach. In Tarapacá, the beach that stands out the most is Playa Blanca, which name comes from the spectacular white of its sand, which contrasts with its esmerald colored waters.
This is just to mention a few of the best beaches of Chile, there are many more. This country, internationally famous for its mountain range, has a great coast, different to what we are accustomed to. Maybe not with the ideal temperatures to spend the whole day in the water, but it does have excellent beach landscapes and surrounding attractions.
