Besides the wonderful beaches in the cape, we find San Román Light House; a splendid building from where we can appreciate breath-taking panoramic landscapes and we can also see the island of Aruba, about thirty kilometers away.
This seaside resort, also provides us with rich colonial history; its houses and streets still keep their ancient stile, in spite of having been reconstructed. In Cape San Román there are beautiful cliffs and small sand dunes on the shore. The most well-known is Médano Blanco which owes its name to the colour of its sand; and near it, we find Mangle Lloroso, a small town of fishermen.
Hotels & Activities
There is no real hotel trade in this place but we can find some inns and many restaurants. It is a perfect place to enjoy nature in a relaxed environment which induces us to rest and meditate.
In Bahía San Román, tourists canappreciate the sight of a run aground ship and enjoy a good meal at the beach where we can have delicious dishes, being fried fish the best one.
At Morros de Chuara, the conjunction of sand and water is magnificent. It is advisable to have a walk on these hills at sunrise or at twilight, because we can thus have the unbelievable sensation of receiving the first sunbeams or the first lights of the evening.
A few kilometers from the cape, we find a small village called Puerto Escondido, which has an excellent restaurant, where we will be able to taste a delicious lobster.
Weather & Flights
We will arrive along a rough road from the airport of the city or Coro which is connected with the airport of Caracas. As most of the beaches in Venezuela, the peninsula is hot and dry and its average annual temperature is 30°.
