Bali is part of the Lesser Sunda Islands of Indonesia. It's surrounded by the waters of the Pacific and Indian Ocean, with Java to the west and Lombok to the east and a mountainous area from the central area to the east its highest point is Mount Agung.The beaches in the south have white sand while those in the north have black sand. One of the most popular beaches for tourists is Kuta. It is the most extensive in Bali and surfing is one of the most practiced water sports. There you can board a glass bottom boat allowing you to enjoy the coral reefs. There is another very particular beach that despite being called Legian, is known as the Beach of the United Nations, for there the locals mingle with expatriates and tourists.
One of the great attractions for the island is the art developed here, sculpture, painting, dance, etc. The main tourist draws in Bali are the people of Kuta, and the cities of Healing, Nusa Dua and Jimbaran.

The temples are a great attraction for tourists, and if you particulary like them, one of the most spectacular is the important Pura Uluwatu Pura Sada.
Another option if you get bored of being in the beach the whole day, is walk the streets to discover the craftsmanship in jewelry, textiles and retail electronic stores. And if you donīt want to miss any second of the beach, there are also night markets to visit.
HOW AND WHEN TO GO - WEATHER AND TRANSPORTATION
In Bali there is the Ngurah Rai International Airport which receives several airlines, there are good roads that run along the coast to the island but no railroad service.
With an average temperature of 30 degrees Bali has a tropical climate and is divided, like most of the beaches of Indonesia, into two seasons the rainy October till March and the dry from April to September.
