In the province of Manabí, very near the beautiful San Vicente, we find Bahía de Caráquez; a small city with particular characteristics. The native inhabitants say it is the safest beach in Ecuador. It counts with an exuberant beach with calm and mild water, a perfect mix of virgin nature, avant-garde architecture and secure amusement which make this beach one of the places we must visit if we are in Ecuador.

Placed on the mouth of river Chone, Bahía de Caráquez has been chosen by international cruises as a part of their routes, giving their passengers the possibility of admiring one of the biggest crops of shrimps in captivity or enjoy the little reserve of the dry tropical forest, Its turquoise water and his mild breeze are propitious for an absolute rest.

There are also smaller beaches, such as "Punta Bellaca" y "El Pajonal", chosen by the surfers and lovers of sea sports.

Is a good option to go up to the view points in the high neighborhoods, from where we can enjoy a good sight of the landscape and a good typical tropical drink.

The city has only one access by road from the city of San Vicente. We can arrive there from Quito by direct flies to the airport "Los Perales". The temperature is between 25º and 31º. The climate is springlike during all the year round
