The African continent has not been very explored from an international tourist point of view. With the exception of the countries on the Mediterranean Sea, the rest of the African countries lack recognized tourist destinations.The exception to this rule is due to the safari tourism, which has in Africa its best exponent, and South Africa, a country that is different from the rest of the continent in its population, language and history.
However, Africa has an universe of beaches to be discovered, which in many cases surpass in beauty and spectacularity of the most famous beaches like the Italy Beaches or the Colombia beaches.
Within the African countries with interesting beaches, Egypt stand out. Obviously, the pharaoh temples, the Museum of Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza are the top attractions of this country, in its coasts on the Mediterranean sea as well as the Red Sea, the Egyptian beaches deserve to be highlighted. Especifically, Sharm el Sheik on the Red Sea offers good beaches and its transparent waters have turned it into one of the pearls of international diving.
Another spectacular African beach destination is Zanzibar, an archipelago on the Indian Ocean in front of the coast of Tanzania, which has beautiful white sand, turquoise water beaches with small fishing villages and an ideal tranquility to spend magnificient and relaxing vacations.
The most world famous beach destination in Africa are the Seychelles Islands, which are also an archipelago comprised of 115 islands on the Indian Ocean, on the northern side of Madagascar Island. The Seychelles beaches are a postcard from heaven: palm trees, coconut trees, turquoise waters, wild fauna and corals make this destination an unmisseable one for beach lovers.
So, do not be misguided by ignorance and think Africa is a place for pyramids and safari only, make up your mind and visit the beaches of Africa!
